For Father's day this year, we made our way up to the Dallas area. More specifically Frisco, TX. Carter had another basketball tournament, the
2011 Gym Rat Showdown
. They went 0-4, but that's OK. I think most of them had fun, and it's great for our guys here in B/CS to learn what's out there in other areas.
We left College Station around 4:00 on Friday, and our 1st stop was here:

Awesome, huh? We drove up to Jerryworld, to watch my cousin's husband, Matt, play in a flag football tournament. He is on the SAPD SWAT team and they have a football team, how fun! We missed the first game, so we just sat outside until it was over. It was a "win or go home" scenario, and unfortunately we didn't get to go in because they lost...by 1 point! We did let Matt pick where we went to eat, since he was a little down :). He picked one of our favs. Wingstop.

It was great to eat with him, Barbie, their girls Adriana (who is by far my most favorite little 6 year old in the WORLD) and Isabella (who absolutely loves Bryan - she has liked him from the 1st time she met him. Me not so much). We got to see their son, Kenneth for a few minutes, but he slept most of the time. He is only a few months old now, so we'll let it slide this time. I didn't get any pictures though! Darn it. Then we started our trek from Arlington to Wylie, where we were staying with the Malhiot's for the weekend. We decide to make one stop...one that we didn't get to last time we were in the area. We went to
Pokey O's...finally.

This place takes homemade cookies, and slaps blue bell ice cream in between them. It's not just any kind, you get to pick!

I chose Snickerdoodle cookies, with Kolorz (or something like that) ice cream. It was basically a pretty colored vanilla ice cream. It was so yummy!

Bryan went off the path and got one chocolate chip and one macadamia nut, and squished some birthday cake between them.

Both were so good, I don't think either of us offered the other a bite!
Carter wasn't in a very adventurous mood, and opted not to try one. His loss, but I'm sure we'll be back the next time we are up there.

Saturday was filled with a little sleeping in, a little outlet shopping, and 2 basketball games. Then Mark and Stephanie's neighborhood had a pool party. They blew up a big screen, played a movie, and popped some popcorn. It was a lot of fun. We stayed until about 10:00, when Barrett was ready to go, we all jumped up and went! It was great being able to spend some quality time with some great friends, and just relax with them, while the boys played.
On our way home, Bryan wanted to use his Father's Day giftcard to Academy. He is/was in desperate need of some new running shoes. Sooooo we stopped, and these are the ones that he got:

Aren't they GREAT! I absolutely love them, and I love when my husband takes my advice, and he goes outside the box :).
Then Bryan helped some friends move, and we had a great dinner from Rudy's while watching the Aggie baseball game! Brisket and ribs for Carter and Bryan, and turkey for me! It was very good, as usual.

The upcoming weeks are going to be crazy. Carter goes to summer camp, we go on vacation, Bryan goes to Kentucky (not sure if CJ and I will tag along or not). Then it's August! Hope you are all having a great summer so far!
